What is Placement Testing?

At Pamlico Community College, we want you to be successful. The placement test helps Pamlico Community College determine which classes will best fit your needs, giving you more opportunities to succeed. The placement test includes sections on English, computer skills, and math.

Do I have to take a Placement Test?

No, not all students are required to take a placement test. When you receive your Pamlico Community College admissions letter, you will be told to contact your counselor. Once you contact your counselor, he/she will let you know if you need placement testing and will schedule that placement testing with you.

What if I do need to take a Placement Test?

First, do not worry. This test will better equip you to be successful at Pamlico Community College. Our counselor will let you know if you need to take a placement test. We want you to succeed, so we will work with you to schedule a date for placement testing that fits your schedule and your needs.

Second, you can prepare for the testing. Below you will see a variety of study resources. Utilize those sources, and always contact your counselor if you have any concerns or questions.
